"Arduino as ISP" on RFDuino?
« on: June 03, 2014, 09:07:22 AM »
Can I use the RFDuino as an ISP to push the new bootloader? I would like to burn a new bootloader to my Arduino Uno, and I have two RFDuinos laying around.

BTW, I'm doing this because I want to remotely update sketches on the UNO - so I'm looking into the Freetronica arduino-tftpboot firmware for that

http://www.freetronics.com/pages/how-to-upload-a-sketch-to-your-arduino-via-a-network#.U43nQvldXEo

Anyone have good or bad experiences on that bootloader or suggest a different one?

This is for a sprinkler controller which is ethernet hardwired and hopefully will host an AngularJS web page for control and scheduling of the sprinklers.

I was hoping to get a response from the rfduino folks on this by now... Are there special AVR only commands in the Arduino as ISP sketch which would make programming a boot loader to another arduino not work? Not the kind of thing you want to just try since it could potentially brick the arduino. Thanks!
