Adding Board Manager to IDE 1.6.7 - What's the Secret?
« on: February 05, 2016, 05:37:49 PM »
It really can't be this difficult, can it?

I've been struggling with this trying to get something--ANYTHING--to work and can't do it. I've tried mixing and matching old versions of the IDE and old versions of the RFDuino library.

I'm running Windows 7 and have got Arduino IDE 1.6.7 installed and want to add the RFduino library.

I've followed the instructions which includes adding the additional board manager in Preferences. This does not work. I get error messages that this board manager cannot be downloaded. Since I can't see the RFduino in the Board Manager window, I can't use it.

There is, apparently, no manual way to add this, so I'm dead in the water. If I could find a combination of the older Arduino IDE and the RFduino releases that worked, I'd use that. But having tried many combinations, I can't seem to find one.

Can someone help me with this?

Never mind. Apparently the company firewall blocks something that was needed to load the board manager.
