RFduino-powered exploding Battle Blimps project

I wanted to share a new open-source RFduino project with you. What is a Battle Blimp? It's a remote-controlled dogfighting blimp, filled with hydrogen and equipped with a puncture+igniter weapon for blowing up the competition. We're primarily doing this as an interactive fire art project for the Burning Man festival and elsewhere, but it's also a fun toy. For safer battles, hydrogen can be replaced with helium and the igniters removed. Or you can just make a blimp and fly it around the house.

RFduino was chosen as the 'brain' for our project because we wanted to keep the design simple, low-power, affordable and lightweight. A blimp weighs around 20 grams including the frame and tiny battery, and can fly around for over 10 minutes on a charge. They are very maneuverable, easy for beginners to pilot, and tough enough to survive crashes ... while on fire.

We used surface mount components to make the circuit board as tiny and lightweight as possible. This is an awesome thing to know about, because surface mounting your own stuff is like peering behind the curtain into the secret world of tiny manufactured goods that rule the world! If you're interested in getting a PCB, we are making a few extras to give away as "perks" for supporters of our crowdfunding campaign (there is a link within the Instructable below -- I'm not sure if it's okay to post Indiegogo links here). You can also make your own - we'll publish the final PCB design once we've finished testing.
