FPGA Connection to RFduino
« on: November 14, 2013, 03:34:18 PM »
I am trying to figure out on how to use an FPGA board in conjunction with RFduino board. That is how do I use RFduino to communicate with  (send and receive data to/from) an FPGA board. As such I have couple of questions, and any advice is welcome:

1- Can a USB shield be used to communicate with the FPGA board. If yes, then how?
2- Can the same USB board be used to power the FPGA board (assuming that I have a battery shield)? This might be a wishful thinking as the battery might not be able to current source an FPGA board. But I am thinking of using a Avnet Spartan-6 LX9 MicroBoard which does not consume much power (see http://www.xilinx.com/products/boards-and-kits/AES-S6MB-LX9.htm)

Thanks
