Okay, well I was an idiot and put a one-second delay at the end of each RFduinoBLE_onReceive() call. So while the packet size remains minuscule (shouldn't it at least be 20 bytes??), I can send quite a few packets sequentially without issue. I don't have a firm data transfer rate, but it's plenty fast enough for sending a bunch of RGB values.

I'd still love to know why the packet limit is so tiny.

Hi this 12 bytes limit was updated to 20 bytes some time back. You may need to update to the latest version http://www.rfduino.com/download.html
