Mac OS installation issue
« on: June 24, 2015, 06:12:34 AM »
I Just bought a RFDuino today, downlaoded Arduino IDE, installed all other requirements. I am facing problem from boards manager, I am not able to add board to the IDE. It starts with downloading but stops with error

Error downloading http://arduino.cc/download.php?f=/gcc-arm-none-eabi-4.8.3-2014q1-mac.tar.gz    :(

I have downloaded the 2.3.1 zip file from github and could install libraries manually using Add library option but there is no manual way to install hardware.  :(

I am running Mac OSX 10.7.5

Please help.

Hi zkumar

I have the same issue, but with the windows version:
Error downloading http://arduino.cc/download.php?f=/gcc-arm-none-eabi-4.8.3-2014q1-windows.tar.gz

I found a workaround for this problem. Apparently if you install Arduino SAM Boards (32-bits ARM Cortex-M3) - Arduino Due first and then the RFduino package, the download no longer fails. It worked for me on Linux (Ubuntu 15) and Windows (Win 8.1). I have no explanation for this behaviour, but it might help for troubleshooting.
