Support / Stepper object - too limited to be useful
« on: December 15, 2016, 08:11:16 AM »
At first blush this seems like a great HMI element but now I think it isn't usable.  I would love to be wrong about this if anyone has data to the contrary.

The fact that when you Google "drawStepper" all you find is 2 vague descriptions of how it works.  No actual uses of it.

How it seems to work:  You give a min & max value and it always starts at the min.  No way to make it start at a particular value.  When it is at min (as when it is created) it doesn't allow you to select the "-" minus value so there is no way to use it and offset what is displayed.

Disappointing.  Have to remove these from my current project.

Support / Slider not reliably logging event
« on: December 14, 2016, 08:37:12 AM »
I've put a slider on my iPhone 5 screen that only calls the ui_event () routine about a third of the time when I move it.

Anyone else seen this?  Is it a known problem with a workaround?

Thanks,

mcb

Support / simblee_temperature return value bounces around
« on: November 22, 2016, 09:59:15 AM »
I notice that I'll get around 10 readings (1/second) around the right temperature and then 1 reading about 10° F less, why is that?

Thanks

Best Practices / Best Practice: Image Settings
« on: November 21, 2016, 06:07:25 AM »
I've been able to get images on my iPhone 5 OK but I'm wondering if anyone has guidelines for DPI, image size etc. that can get you close to the desired result the first time.

I'm using the CorelDraw family of programs so I can control JPG quality, etc.

Thanks

BOY AND HOW!  I ran into the same thing and knew it had to be configuration as all voltages were good.  Many searches later I found your post so I only pissed off an hour or so.  THANK YOU

Why can't RFDigital update their user manuals with key things like this?  Too busy being leap-frogged by competition?  I'd say if your documentation isn't first rate your product cannot be.

I found this thread when looking for the GETESN code and it gave me some clues on what you need to #include.

But I see the faithful old "printf" statement used here which I don't see in Arduino sketches.  Can someone enlighten me on what it does, ie does it output to the serial port?

Thanks in advance.
